CLARET STUDENT WINS AGAIN: EMERGES BEST IN ENUGU STATE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS ESSAY COMPETITION 2022

Claret Academy Secondary School Gariki, popularly known for its motto - 'building champions today for tomorrow' has indeed proven that very fact not only in the 100% success of its Pioneer students in the 2021 WAEC/NECO exams, but again at the just concluded State level of the Catholic Schools English Essay Competition 2022.

Miss Imelda Okechukwu, who emerged 3rd position (Junior category) at the Zonal level of the Catholic Schools Essay Competition, went on to represent the school as well as the Diocese of Enugu at the State level of the competition. This time, she indeed proved her mettle just like St. Anthony Mary Claret, who always came out the best in all he did. Miss Imelda showed that she was not in competition with others, but indeed with herself as she came out the Overall Winner of the State Essay Competition (Junior category).

While congratulating her at the morning assembly on the 24th of May 2022, the Principal/Director of the school, Fr. Matthew Mmuo cmf, praised her dogged persistence to outdo herself each time. He appreciated the staff that guided her as well as her parents that gave all the necessary support.

While we await the award from the state, the Principal announced that the school for her part shall present her with a scholarship in the coming term. Two other participants from the school who also had high positions of 6th and 9th were to get  awards at the school's graduation coming up in August.
